Education to Employability Workshop at Dreams Foundation

An “Education to Employability” Workshop was conducted for the students at Dreams Foundations. We had 17 students attending the workshop which spanned across 3 weeks. The workshop focused on teaching and building the skills required for employment. The workshop was an interactive workshop where the students put into practice the various skills that was imparted.

Workshop at St.Josephs

A two weeks Workshop at St.Josephs College

Our association with St. Josephs Evening continues this year as well. We had the privilege to conduct the 3rd workshop for the students of St. Joseph. The workshop was held at the college premises and 25 students from the Commerce, Arts and Management Stream participated. As part of this workshop, eight modules were covered over the course of 2 weeks. A big “thank you” to the volunteers. We had about 20 volunteers for this event

Volunteer Enrolment

Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. It is only because of the many volunteers that we have that we are able to achieve our objectives.We are constantly looking for volunteers to be part of our activities. You can be part of Creating Futures in any one of the below roles.

• Full time volunteering (dedicated)

• Project based volunteering
  – Example – Create a website, Define a curriculum, etc


• Task based
  – Example – teach a student every weekend, taking one training session, etc


• Association / Role based
  – Example – As part of Creating Futures, do the accounts every month end, manage volunteers, event management, etc

Our Story

Skilled manpower is one of the most vital aspects in today’s competitive world. Organizations are in constant need for trained and skilled workforce to address its growing demands. The current education system being academically-oriented, do not focus on the skills required to perform efficiently in a corporate environment. In today’s scenario, lakhs of students graduate each year and with the expected economic growth, the challenge of having a skilled workforce will multiply, since more and more jobs are expected to be skill-based jobs. Given the increased numbers of graduates and increase in skill-based jobs, there is an urgent need to address this. It is the students from the rural areas and many from the urban areas that are most affected, due to their lack of exposure to the enhanced skills. And in this scenario, thousands do not get employment leading to a cycle of poverty

Creating Futures is Born

Given this urgent need for capability development and to tackle unemployment, the idea of Creating Futures was born. We believe that education empowers us. It gives us the necessary skills and makes us capable enough to earn a living! In today’s world there is no dearth of educated people. But, there is a dearth is of “skilled” educated individuals. What’s important in today’s world is how you represent Yourself!

We believe that we can make a difference in building the required skills that will enable the beneficiaries in getting that great job. We believe that we can provide the necessary tools that will make them successful. To achieve this objective, we at Creating Futures have set up this non-profit and non-government organization driven by passionate individuals.

Enable employment among educated youth.

We aim to build and train the educated rural and urban youth from economically less fortunate background in various skills and make them highly-capable corporate-ready resources to facilitate their employment. This initiative includes:

Objectives of Creating Futures

Creating Futures will work towards the achievement of these through two complementary programs:

• Value-Addition Program
  This is a short-duration (approximately, 10 days) program, and focuses on honing skills, predominantly soft skills, that will enable youth find employment, and aimed at educated youth, with minimum qualification of 12th standard.


• Practical, Real-Life Experience Program
  This is a long-duration (approximately, 6-9 months) program, with primary focus on internship, and aimed at skills needed for the IT industry.

Both these programs are aimed at the educated rural and urban youth from economically weak background.
We believe that we can make a difference in building the required skills that will enable the beneficiaries in getting that great job. Internship Program

Our Internship program prepares the college students and young professionals to become a well-rounded individual, having the right experience and expertise in their field of work. This is done by imparting to them the relevant skills in technologies, processes and soft skills that are required in the current job market.

The program participants will receive a real-time project experience, necessary trainings and continued interactions with professionals in their area of work. Each participant will have a well-defined development path supported by experienced professionals. Besides this, mentors will be assigned to each of these participants.

The program is for a duration of six months after which job placement opportunities will be provided.

E2E Program

Education to Employability Program

With many students passing out each year and with competition being extremely high in the job market, the need of the hour is to ensure that the students have a well rounded ability for them to land a job. This includes communication, presentation, interview skills, business etiquette and so on.

A personal effectiveness program is needed for enhancing their skills, create corporate awareness and enable the college students in being better prepared. We believe Education to Employability program will help enhance the needed skills.

Objectives of the E2E program: To empower college students with tools for enhancing their personal and professional excellence, leading to improved employability and professional effectiveness.

Spoken English

In today’s very competitive job environment, it is essential that the young professionals have the right level of English skill to be able to get the right job. This means the ability to converse, express, articulate in the best way possible.

Spoke English program is a dedicate program that will help the students in improving their spoken English skills by focusing on the vocabulary, sentences and using the right words. The objective is to train the students and develop confidence in speaking English, Simple Sentences, Social Conversation, word building, pronunciation and Basic grammar.

Life skills Program

Life Skills are abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enables individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life - (WHO).

Life Skills, in this context, are competencies that help students and young professionals function well in their environments. These are built in sequential steps depending on the student's background, circumstances, age and developmental stage. The necessary skills are then acquired through “learn-by-doing” activities.

Life Skills programs are very specific to students who need the special attention and focus which would help them in the career. This program will help in the personality development with the objective of overall grooming of students in social, private and public environments.

Career Counselling & Guidance

The aim of this programme is to introduce the youth to the multitude of career options available for them in today’s world and guide them in choosing an option that best suits them. Focusing on creating self-awareness within the students and then enabling them to uncover their abilities, qualities and skills, we guide them in aligning their interests and skills to their current circumstances to identify their career options. This program also looks at Career Counselling.
We have separate programs: one attuned to the needs of grades 9 & 10 th and another for 1 st & 2 nd PU students.

Teacher Development

The essence of a teacher lies in the ability to uncover a student’s true potential and inspire them. Through this programme we involve them in activities that aim to reinforce the pivotal role that they play in a child’s life and sensitise them to the opportunity that they have in influencing a life and through that our society at large. We work with them in expanding their perspectives, devising ways to be more responsive to the needs and adapt to the potential of individual students in a way that the learning engagement is impactful.

Computer Skills

We work with students who do not have the privilege of accessing computers and hence we have designed this programme to equip them with the knowledge of basic computer usage. This structure of this programme facilitates exposure to simple computer operations, email usage and furthermore, attempts to introduce them to the world of MS- Word, Excel & Powerpoint.

Emotional Management

Many of our students endure difficult relationships and circumstances in their lives. To face their day to day life, they need to be capable of managing their emotions and responding appropriately.
We start with helping them to identify their emotions, continue with recognising how they respond to those emotions and using techniques like group therapy, empathy, conflict management and other such impactful tools, we guide them on measures to reduce stress and help them be positively engaged in their life.

Wellbeing Programmes

This is our programme for uneducated youth and school drop outs. Our endeavour is to work with them to instil the thought that despite their difficult situations in life, they can aspire, achieve and accomplish their desires. Our workshops transform into safe havens for them to express themselves without fear. Through our activities we make them feel worthy, appreciated and safe. Our ultimate aim is to germinate a genuine desire for improvement.

Soft skills

Quintessential to making a mark in the career of your choice, mastery over soft skills is essential for anyone foraying into the corporate world. Leadership skills, Teamwork, Effective Communication, Negotiation, Business Etiquette and some others are among the soft skills that we have in our programme bouquet. With this programme we reach out to students who are in the final year of their studies or have just completed their education.

Whole School development

The Creating Futures’ Whole School Development program is focused on the concept of ‘sustainability’. Starting early in the lifecycle, we target the educational institutions through whom the young adults start their learning journeys. We look at the holistic development of the school with the school management, teachers, parents and other community members collaborating to lay the foundation for a wholesome educational upbringing of the students.

Personality Development

Living responsibly and Self Responsibility is the key driver. This is a programme with a difference. We set the students on a path of exploration. We encourage them to look within and map their journey of life. In the process, they stumble upon their obstacles, appreciate their achievements and while doing so, identify their unique strengths and capabilities that have helped them to sustain and survive. We guide them in using this insightful information while making decisions and thus enabling them in living life responsibly and purposefully.
